Running Romeo and Jogging Juliet
Some people will go to extraordinary lengths in order to support your local Church! In the case of Alice Crane and The Rev David Banbury they are running 26.2 miles to support the restoration work at Holy Trinity. The two runners will be participating in the Shakespeare Marathon on Sunday 26th April and are seeking sponsorship for their marathon effort.
As if running the 26 miles wasnít enough Alice and David will be completing the course in fancy dress. In tribute to Shakespeare they will be dressed as Romeo and Juliet as they stride round the Warwickshire countryside raising funds for the Friends of Shakespeareís Church.
David, who last year completed the London Marathon dressed as a Roman Legionary while raising funds for The Royal British Legion, said "I'm really looking forward to the race and I hope that taking part in fancy dress will encourage people to sponsor our fundraising on behalf of Shakespeareís church."

Alice, a veteran of several half marathons will be completing her first full marathon. Regarding the fancy dress costumes Alice commented "The idea of running as Romeo and Juliet will be fun but I can't reveal who will be Romeo and who gets to dress as Juliet!"
The couple are both training hard for the race at the moment and running approximately 30-40 miles a week in preparation for the big day.
The funds raised by Alice and David will go towards the restoration work on the Clerestory Windows in Holy Trinity. The much needed restoration will cost around £400,000. David and Alice hope that their fancy dress Marathon will raise funds and help create awareness for the work that needs to be done to save Shakespeare's Church.
If you would like to support Alice and David in their marathon effort then please sign the sponsor forms at the back of church or in the parish office or give online CLICK HERE TO SPONSOR ONLINE
If you put the word 'MARATHON' in the first line of your address, it will be easily identified.
Juliet said that they hoped to complete the course in less than 4 hours 30 minutes but the bigger challenge will be raising over a thousand pounds in sponsorship so please help.
